Social Media Marketing: Best Twitter Apps for Mobile | Real Estate ...

Social Media Marketing: Best Twitter Apps

The mistakes that most rental professionals can make with their Twitter account usually stem from the fact that they don?t understand the service. Specifically, they don?t realize how geared Twitter is toward mobile use. Twitter was invented for people to essentially publish their thoughts on-the-go, in real time, and it?s no coincidence that the text limit of a tweet is 140 characters, or the approximate character limit of a standard text message. The idea is that you will share your thoughts and opinions as they happen when you?re out and about. Your prospective leads are using Twitter this way, so you should as well.

For this reason, we suggest to you that to be use the service, you download some sort of app to your smartphone to employ Twitter to get your thoughts out.?As a rental professional, you?re mostly out and about anyway.

Tweetdeck

This is the most popular of all Twitter mobile apps ? so popular that Twitter had to own it themselves, buying it up in 2011. You can?t send your tweets out to other networks with this one for that reason (no more Foursquare or LinkedIn) except for Facebook. You can digest rental real estate news easily with Tweetdeck.

HootSuite

This app is ideal if you have multiple Twitter accounts, perhaps a professional one and a personal one, and also other social networks. ?They have apps for iPhone and Android both, as well as for Blackberry. They have a lot of bells and whistles for real Twitter fanatics such as click-through reports and message translation features, but for you as a rental professional, the most key aspect of this app is that you can send out your tweets on your business account separately from your personal account easily on this interface.

Echofon

The main selling point of this iPhone app is how clean it is. If you find the whole Twitter thing overwhelming sometimes, the less cluttered interface might be just the ticket to get you marketing your rentals and services on Twitter.

These are just some suggestions, and others you may choose to look into include TweetCaster and Plume for Android, and TweetBot and Twitterrific for iPhone. Ultimately, whichever program you feel most comfortable with is the right choice. The most important takeaway is to get your rental business on Twitter, especially on the go.

'Survivor' shocker: Who won the $1 million?

CBS

"Survivor: Philippines" final four.

By Bruna Nessif, E! Online

The sole survivor and winner of $1 million from this season of "Survivor: Philippines" was named Sunday night, but not before two-hours of struggles, challenges, sweat and tears.

Lisa Whelchel, Michael Skupin, Malcolm Freberg and Denise Stapley made it to the final four, but all anyone was thinking about now was who would be cut when it came to the three going to the final. It seemed like Denise was the likely competitor to get the boot. Was she??

Before we found out, they faced their first challenge, which required each person to race through an obstacle course and collect three bags that contained puzzle pieces. It's always a puzzle! The first person to complete the dragon puzzle would win an advantage in the final Immunity Challenge the next night.

"Survivor's" Jeff Probst talks sharing custody with Mark-Paul Gosselaar

Michael and Malcolm were off to a good start, until it came to untying knots. That's when Denise zoomed by and it was neck-and-neck between the three of them with Lisa falling behind. However, it wasn't about who got the bags fastest, it was all about the puzzle, and everything seemed to be going in Denise's favor because she was killin' it.?

But nope, it was Malcolm who won (duh). So the guy who was already a huge threat, was an even bigger threat. Back to the final three discussion -- where do the alliances stand? Malcolm refused to commit to his lady Denise, so she went off to Lisa to form something with her, and then told Skupin that she decided to turn against Malcolm. Whaaat?!

The top reality shows of 2012

Mike and Lisa formed a pact with both Malcolm and Denise without the other person knowing, so they were in a pretty sweet spot. For now. The sad part was they wanted Denise because they felt so strongly that she was beatable. Yes, smart thinking, but still sad.?

Before backs started getting stabbed, the foursome did the Lost Comrades Walk, to remember those who were sent home this season. Once that trip down memory lane was over, it was back to the game and time for the last Immunity Challenge. And boy was it a doozy. Each player had a cylinder block that was cut into several pieces. With two handlebars, they had to hold a piece up in the air while balancing a ball on the block. Every five minutes, they'd add more blocks and attempt to balance the ball again. If at any point the ball fell, they were out. Deep breath.

Top 10 TV OMG moments of 2012

Don't forget! Malcolm won the advantage, which was revealed as a second chance. If his ball dropped, he would get a free reset. Good thing for that, too, because he was the first to drop his ball, causing everyone to start that round all over again. And yet again, a shaky Malcolm failed the challenge and was the first person out. Told you, this was intense.

Denise was the second person out, leaving Mike and Lisa up for immunity. After what seemed like a lifetime of wobbly arms, wind slightly moving the ball, close-ups of Mike's stomach sweat and Jeff Probst commentary every two seconds, Lisa dropped her ball, giving Michael immunity and a spot in the final three.?

"Survivor's" Lisa Whelchel has West Nile Virus

Now Mike was facing a dilemma: Should he stick with Denise or Malcolm in the finals? On the one hand, Denise would be easier to beat. On the other hand, Skupin's competitive, male ego really wanted to face-off with Malcolm in a head-to-head battle to see who would win in the end.

Once at Tribal Council, Denise voted for Malcolm and vice versa (obvious), Lisa made it clear she wanted Malcolm out, so the vote that really mattered was Mike's. Was he going to take the favored road and boot his strongest competitor or let his ego take over? Well, if you were hoping to see Mike and Malcolm battle it out in the finals, sorry, it won't happen.

The final three are Lisa, Mike and Denise, with Malcolm joining the jury.

Lisa Whelchel breaks down on "Survivor: Philippines": "Maybe I'm just not able to play the game"

After a hearty breakfast, full of sausage, bacon, peppers and orange juice (to name a few things), the trio faced the jury at the last Tribal Council.

During opening statements, Denise, Lisa and Mike each discuss their similar yet also somewhat different tactics on what got them to the finals, but it was pretty much a bunch of talk that we already expected. It was during the jury questioning that things got a little saucy. Veteran Jonathan Penner revealed Lisa's child star past -- gasp! So did that change things up?

Possibly, because when the votes were tallied and all was said and done, it was Denise who won it all.

Were you happy with the results?! Let us know on?Facebook!

Bangkok condo growth highest in ASEAN - Real Estate - Thailand ...

The number of real estate projects, particularly condominiums, in the Thai capital is the highest in the ASEAN countries and triples that of Jakarta, which ranks second highest, according to the Thai Appraisal Foundation. Analysts around the region are closely monitoring the fast growing housing projects here.

In the first nine months of this year, new condominiums in Bangkok sprouted up at the rate of 42 per cent year-on-year.

According to the Real Estate Information Centre, skyrocketing condominium construction is caused by many factors?changing weather, flood-prone locations, more strict related law, urban lifestyles, and elevated and underground electric mass transit extension.

Bangkok Condo sprout

In the first nine months of this year, new condominiums in Bangkok sprouted up at the rate of 42 per cent year-on-year.

?

Government Housing Bank real estate information center director Samma Kitsin said four locations studded with condominiums are Huay Kwang-Chatuchak, the Bangna end of Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok, the tourist and industry-concentrated province of Chonburi and the seaside resort zone of Hua Hin and Cha-am.

More condominiums are on the way as developers and investors see a rising future housing demand, particularly after the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.

?The condominium market is highly competitive. Projects not achieving target sales quotas set by the financial institution will not be given financial credit to continue, so construction will be put on hold,?

Mr Samma said.Thai Appraisal Foundation president Sophon Pornchokchai sees condominium sales accounting for 70 per cent of housing market shares. The ratio of home buyers and speculators is 2:1 now.Real estate prices slightly increase by five per cent annually and there is no sign of a real estate bubble, he added.?Currently, finished condominiums are mostly occupied by the owners themselves. This is not a problem, but if it grows unstoppably, it is not a good sign and the growth is probably related to purchasing for speculation. In some countries, speculation can be prevented as banks do not give loans to speculators,? he said.

DHS Auditors Want US-CERT to Share More with Intl Partners

The Department of Homeland Security?s inspector general issued a report last August finding inconsistent communication with international partners in cybersecurity, Fierce Government IT reports.

According to David Perera?s report, auditors found the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team is not forging strong relationships with their international allies.

Auditors want strong communication between US-CERT and its foreign counterparts for continued working relationship among the agencies.

Foreign CERT officials expressed sentiments about US-CERT?s slow or lack of response to auditors and one said he would like to ask US-CERT to share its threat information. Perera reported.

However, DHS officials believe that the data is proprietary and cannot be shared due to potential effects on U.S. security.

Rand Beers, head of DHS? national protection and programs directorate, said US-CERT already allocates enough resources to international collaboration.
